Introduction

Quality of life is a person’s perception of the environment and context in which they live, work, and play. Residents were asked about their satisfaction with eight specific measures.

Quality of Life

• Mesa County is a good place to live.
• Your neighborhood is a good place to live.
• Mesa County is a good place to raise children.
• Mesa County is a good place to work (including on the job training and education).
• Mesa County is a good place to visit.
• Mesa County is a good place to have fun/recreate.
• Mesa County is a good place to retire.
• Overall Mesa County provides a good quality of life.

Key Findings

• Over all residents, with the exception of work, averaged between moderately satisfied and satisfied.
• Residents were most satisfied with Mesa County as a place to visit and have fun.
• They were least satisfied with Mesa County as a place to work.
• Satisfaction with the quality of life in Mesa County was most strongly impacted by income level.
• Older residents were more satisfied with quality of life in Mesa County than their younger counterparts, but this is in part explained by the fact that generally, income increases as age increases.
• People who are newer to the community (less than 10 years) were slightly more satisfied than people who have lived here longer
