Introduction

Internet access has grown to become integral to success in work, education, healthcare, and other aspects which contribute to a person’s quality of life. Mesa County leadership’s efforts to advance higher quality and more equitable internet access can contribute towards the strategic plan mission to “provide the infrastructure so you can live the life you want.”

Key Findings

  • Community members overwhelmingly support the County’s investment in better internet. This support is consistent even among those who reported having adequate internet service at home.
  • Community members also broadly support having more internet providers.
  • The percentage of those who report having inadequate internet service grows as income increases.
  • Nearly one-third of residents report having inadequate internet at home.

The Tell Us community survey was administered during June and July 2022. The survey was open to all Mesa County residents (18 years and older) to assess citizen satisfaction and to measure how residents perceived progress on key initiatives, customer service and efficiency of county government, and areas for future growth.
